"But you-" Loch interrupted him, and with his bad mood, the getting-in-your-face sort of thing almost irritated him. Loch seemed almost as annoying as Tristan was being today. What was with everyone lately??
And then, Beauty herself walked into the picture, and Toboe's tail curled delightedly. He forgot about his bad mood and his female mind problems and his first thoughts lay with Eyelle.
He knocked past Loch quite rudely and ignored both he and Tristan, his tongue flailing out of his mouth in his excitement. "Eyelle! Eyelle! I've been wanting to talk to you for daayyys!" he said with strong emotion, smiling very sweetly and Toboe-like. But as he studied her beautifulness with his blue eyes, he realized something was bothering Eyelle. It was hard to see but he could tell by a first glance at her expressive eyes and the fastbeat pace of her heartbeat. "Uhh, so, where've you been?" he asked her, reaching over to offer a nuzzle to her face.

Loch grinned as he saw Eyelle, but his grin slowly curled into a surly frown when he remembered how he was turned down by the female. He pouted, sticking his bottom lip out in an exaddurated gesture and planted his bum firmly on the floor. He tried to keep his tail from moving, yet the furry appendage could not remain motionless. At the sight of those jewel-like eyes, Loch couldn't help himself from smiling. So he tried extra, extra hard to keep his bottom lip pouty. It was very hard.
Eventually, his tail was wagging like that of a madman, and Loch felt as if his tummy was about to fly up through his throat and out of his mouth and just flutter away like a newly-hatched butterfly. He grinned from ear to ear, displaying his set of impressive, yet deadly teeth. As Eyelle neared him, he looked over to Toboe. Fool. But Loch couldn't help it, he liked the male. He was nice. Loch chuckled to himself and shook his head. Typical Toboe. Loch, himself, though, preferred a more sophisticated approach.
"E-E-Eyelle..." He stammered. So much for sophisticated... He grimaced. Oh bugger. "Hey there...hehehe, how's it going?" He tried to forget the feeling in his heart. It sort of hurt, and to see her with Toboe was slowly going to tear Lochnivar apart. His vitality seemed to be slipping away, and his deep amber eyes were hollow and depressed. He didn't want Eyelle to worry, however, because she deserved so much more than to feel bad about him. If she chose Toboe, yeah, Loch would be heartbroken, but he'd move on, and he'd eventually be happy for the couple. He thought about Vixen, who was head-over-heels obsessed with Loch, and all the females that were constantly flirting with him. He could have almost any young fae he desired, but he had to fall for the only one who would turn him down.
Oh, for stars' sake!

Eyelle laughed as Toboe greeted her enthusiastically, he was adorable and it was clear he had feelings for her. In a way, it would all be simpler to go for Toboe... but as Loch stammered over her name, she became again confused. Did he or didn't he like her? It was all so strange to witness.
Still, they had both asked her very similar questions, and she felt she must answer them or risk looking like more of a numpty than she already felt.
"Everything's good, thanks, guys," she tried to answer both at once, smiling and nodding to both. She needed somehow to stop this whole in-betweeny thing.
She quickly turned her attention to Tristan. "Hello Tristan! I don't believe we've talked since you joined the pack. How do you like it?" she asked him quickly, sitting down gently, sweeping her tail over the bog as it wagged gently.

Tristan gave a girlish giggle when both of the other males present seemed to be shy and falling head-over-heels for the pretty she-wolf. He grinned at Toboe and Loch, glad he wasn't in love with Eyelle. When she spoke, he turned his head, and gave her a big, friendly grin.
'It's great!' he exclaimed, 'What about you, been up to anything interestinh lately?' he tail wagged softly, his eyes twinkled happily as he waited for a reply. [/size]

Toboe felt slightly confused, his eyebrows creasing in proof. But he figured it was nothing and just padded forward to take a seat by Eyelle's side. He smiled at Tristan, too, a complete change of how he was acting before. When he was around Eyelle, he just... Melted away into please-the-feminine-one world. He wished he could take Eyelle away somewhere private, ask her to be his mate, and then smother her with sloppy kisses. Better than the first one he gave her that day he fell in love with her! Toboe glanced at Eyelle's face, wondering if she would mention to Tristan the wonderful time she had with Toboe not a long time ago. He smiled proudly, his tail slowly sweeping the dust on the dirty floor.

Loch smiled fondly over at Tristan. He saw much of himself in the wolf. Looking back to Eyelle, he frowned as Toboe went to sit by her. His ears flitted back slightly as he felt his ribcage being beaten senseless by the heavy pumping of his distressed heart. He tried to avert his gaze, but he couldn't help picturing the two wolves sitting on a picturesque hill with little ones running around them. He bristled with anger and sadness. These emotions he felt, he didn't know how to control them.
Part of him wanted to rip Toboe's trachea clean from his neck, and part of him, the bigger part, wanted Eyelle to be happy. Even if it left him out of the picture. She just had to know. He stepped forward, nudging Eyelle's soft cheek with his warm, wet nose.
"Eyelle. I have to talk to you. In private. If you don't mind Toboe, Tristan." He looked to the other two males, but locked gazes with Toboe. He nodded firmly to the male. Eyelle wasn't going anywhere. Toboe need not worry. Loch had surrendered. He was done.

Toboe was further confused when Loch asked Eyelle to speak in private. A flurry of testosterone instinct flooded his blood, and he gave the wolf a rather dirty look before glancing at Eyelle with his normal naive-face. Was that why he hadn't seen much of Eyelle lately? Had she been running around with this guy? It was no wonder he felt tension in the air as soon as Eyelle came. I mean... Come on... I'm not that stupid... He nodded his head to Loch, finally, and turned away to nudge Tristan. "Come on, Tristan, Loch wants to talk to Eyelle. Alone."
Hey, maybe nothing was going and he really was stupid? Toboe smiled to himself. Yeaaahhh, that must be it. He was just assuming something absurd and he was being unfair. After all... Eyelle loved him back, didn't she?
I'VE NEVER EVEN ASKED HER THAT BEFORE.

Eyelle looked from wolf to wolf, but before she could answer Tristan, she'd been asked to be spoken with. Alone. Now there was a scary and odd way of putting things. Because she wouldn't be alone, she'd be with Loch.
Dispelling these thoughts from her brain, she smiled apologetically at Tristan. Poor and lovely Tristan, caught right in the middle. She turned to see Toboe's expression and frowned slightly at his comment. She turned away from him.
"Yes, Loch?" she asked, looking at him inquisitively as she padded slightly away.

Loch's amber eyes adverted slightly as the female walked beside him. He could not bring himself to look at her. Strong, confident, silly Loch, was just as shy as a baby bunny. He shrugged and sat by a rock, looking around to make sure they were out of earshot. He decided that he had better moderate the loudness of his voice as well, just to make sure.
"Eyelle." He sighed, his chest expanding and contracting with the intake of air. He had to do this. "I don't want you to be caught in the middle of this anymore." He gave a weak and weary smile, half-hearted and cold. "Go with Toboe. He is good. He will love you and treat you like you deserve to be treated, Eyelle."
He dropped his gaze to the floor and, wanting to leave, tried to move, but his large paws seemed to be rooted to the ground.

Eyelle watched Loch very carefully, not giving anything away with her eyes or expression. She mentally weighed up all of the things she could possibly say, or do, right now. This was the moment she had to choose.
She wondered if she could prolong it until she had some clarity.
"And you wouldn't treat me as I deserve?" she asked Loch inquisitively, quietly, gazing at him in curiosity.

At the female's unanticipated words, Lochnivar's eyes shot wide open. Whatwhatwhaaaat? His heart skipped a beat, maybe even two, he didn't care. The massive grey and cream male stood there, mouth agape. It took him awhile to come to his senses.
"Uhm...er...well, of course I would, but but but, you see, I don't want..." He looked down, afraid he sounded like a babbling baboon. He was not wrong there. He took a deep breath, composing himself. "I just don't want you to have to break someone's heart." He whispered, still unable to look up at the bonny fae. If someone had to let go, it was going to be him. He was always the bigger wolf, and not only in physical stature.

Eyelle looked thoughtfully into Loch's bright eyes, blinking gently. She was so unsure of how to feel and act. But if Loch wanted to let go, then maybe she shouldn't keep dragging this along.
Did that mean she chose Toboe?
She frowned, and looked down for a moment. This wasn't her coming to her decision. This was Loch backing out of the running. She phrased this in her head like it was some sort of competition. She looked up at Loch suddenly. Obviously, he didn't want to win.
"I understand," she said, loudly. She turned around, glancing at Toboe and Tristan, and then back at Loch before she spoke again. "I have to go. I'll see you all around sometime."
She nodded, and then padded gracefully from log to log until she was out of sight.
