Forgive me father, why should you bother?
The coming of winter would, a few months previously, have spelt doom for all of his pack. But all Caerwyn could feel pumping beneath his feet, on the frozen ground, was the promise of life. Just one winter, he thought, knowing that he had lead the pack to dig out this very lake and now they even had more prey grazing on their land.
Try honesty, try honesty
He could barely contain himself, he was endlessly proud that they were thriving. He could feel his breath heating his throat before it reached the open air in front of him and disappeared in a puff of vapour. He knew soon it would begin to snow, and these lands would be covered in the thick white blanket. But the lake was not yet frozen over, and he felt at one with his pack and the land they ruled.

Leia padded towards Caerwyn. She was blossoming into a beautiful young female. "Caerwyn?" She asked timidly. She wanted to be sure it was him. As she neared him, his scent assured her and she perked up slightly. She sat next to him and looked out at the lake. She spotted the area she had dug out and felt proud. She looked back at Caerwyn. He really was going to be a fantastic alpha. She was curious as to he he'd pick to lead alongside him, but didn't want to ask. The last thing she wanted to do was offend him. "How is it? You know, being alpha?" She questioned "And how're you and Prospero doing?".
ooc: Was that good? I am not sure... xD. Does it's greatness level pass the test for the new forum?

Caerwyn turned as Leia approached him. He smiled and turned back to the lake, gazing into it again as his breath continued to appear and reappear before his maw.
"Hello Leia," he greeted her. "Prospero and I are fine, thank you," he said pleasantly. "And Alpha duties... well, they're not so bad. At least we don't have to worry about the Falling Moons attacking us. For now, anyway. I think we should just concentrate on getting through the winter, really..." He thought aloud.
"How are you and your sisters doing?" he asked curiously.

Leia nodded, glad that the brothers were doing all right. "Hopefully we don't get attacked for a long, long time. There most likely will be another battle, but hopefully it will be on our terms.". She began to grow nervous, hopefully the whole 'battle' subject wasn't a sore subject for him.
"Oh, my sisters?" She was surprised he'd asked, "We're doing okay, I suppose. Not great, but not horrible either.". Why does he care how we're doing? She wondered. She hadn't realized that alphas were just the same as the rest of them, they just had hit the bloodline lottery.
"Uh, how is Quianna holding up? She is probably better since the stress of being alpha has been lifted from her shoulders.".

Caerwyn looked sideways at her as she spoke, nodding occasionally to show he was acknowledging what she was saying. At the mention of battle, he turned back and glanced at the cold lake, drumming his claws against the hard ground as he thought.
"Glad to hear they're fine," he smiled. "And yes, my mother is doing well. The prospect of a battle is always looming, but it is true, we are actually in a much better position right now. We have improved our own lands and we are prospering for now. We just need to survive the winter, and then we can always think about our old lands when the weather warms up again," he smiled and looked sideways at her again.

She smiled, He is awful nice for someone with so much power.... She slowly began to realize he wasn't much different from everyone else, and he just had leadership skills. "That is good to hear. And I agree, the pack is doing much better since we dug that lake.". She then had a thought in her mind, she couldn't ignore it.
"Have you thought of, possibly just staying in these lands? They're much nicer since we made the improvements it is actually quite nice here. That way no battle has to happen, and nobody would have to get hurt, and... and..." Her voice trailed off as she ran out of things to say, "And stuff like that!". She giggled at her word stumble.

Topaz and Quartz were both excited. They felt like pups again. They were heading to the lake that they had help make to admire their work. They were so excited they forgot the sniff the air for scents, but it didn't matter because no-one would hurt them here.
But Topaz did sniff the air as they got closer, trying to smell the sweet scent of fresh water, which is when she caught Caerwyn's scent. She skidded to a halt. Confused, Quartz looked around and skidded into a tree.
He sighed, 'What now?' he asked as he removed twigs from his coat when Topaz had walked over, 'I...I smelt Caerwyn...' Quartz rolled his eyes, 'He's a guy, get over it.' Topaz felt small, 'I know, I know, but he's different...' Quartz smiled softly and nudged her shoulder affectionatly. 'Don't worry, I'm with you.'
And with that Topaz grinned and licked her brother's cheek ,'Thanks, ' and continued running towards the lake. 'Catch me if you can!'
After a couple of minutes they arrived at the lake, Topaz saw Caerwyn and faltered, but Quartz nudged her on. She swallowed and forced her mind to think straight.
'Hi, Caerwyn...' she said quietly

ooc- AWWW! That was such a sweet post, Moony (: -Karma-
bic- Caerwyn opened his mouth to reply, when he was interrupted by the sound of Topaz and Quartz arriving. He half-turned to smile at them as they arrived, and when Topaz spoke to him, he looked into her eyes. There was something different there, but he couldn't place it.
"Hello Topaz, and Quartz." he said warmly. "And Leia... well, I am considering that greatly. It's definitely the safer option. But... some pack members may want our old land back as a matter of pride," he shrugged. He felt it too. Would his father just want him to roll over and succumb to Duke? He wondered.

Leia turned and grinned at Topaz and Quartz. They were always together, so sweet! "Hello you two!" She said happily. She could sense something happening with Topaz, but didn't bother asking. Leia nodded at Caerwyn, and looked back out at the lake. She heaved a sigh, and looked back at the twins. "How have the two of you been doing lately?" She asked curiously, knowing that they're mother had died. She hoped she wouldn't upset them.

Topaz smiled bashfully at Caerwyn, 'How have you been?' she asked Caerwyn nervously, then Quartz turned to Leia, he padded a few steps towards her, 'Hey. We're fine...' he looked round to Topaz to see if she agreed, she looked away from Caerwyn and nodded, smiling sweetly.
He wondered if she'd heard that their mother had died... His face saddened almost instantly when he thought of his mother, 'What about you...?' he asked, trying to remain as cheerful as ever. OoC// Thanks Paint ^^
