She pondered over his answer, seeing as how it wasn't one she expected. Well, she didn't know what she had expected him to say to begin with, but his response gave her something to think about now. She pondered, and decided she would take his advice, sooner or later. It couldn't do her any harm right?
She too gazed at the water, and turned her head to grin at him when she heard him speak. Standing up, she stretched a little, then turned back with a mischievious grin. Last one there's a fish. She took off for the water, not wanting to be some slimy, scaly thing with gills. She looked back, to see if he was following, and she almost stumbled across a patch of rocks. Blushing underneath her fur, she turned back around and kept running, glad the mood had finally turned.

Quartz laughed happily, then sped off after her, trying not to laugh when she tripped over. He knew now he had feelings for Jasmyne, but he's never had them before, and it made him feel self-concious around her. He didn't want her to think he was boring and stupid, he wanted her to see the real him. Quartz wanted to protect Jasmyne for every moment of his life, and he wanted her to feel the same way. But he guessed she wouldn't, he guessed she'd fall for someone better.
He ran as fast as he could, watching Jasmyne with glistening eyes, not caring whether he won or not.

Finally, finally, she hit the water, making a large splash as she dove into the cool liquid. The water swirled around her, and she went out to the middle, swimming into the deeper water like a professional. Coming to the surface, she was about 20 yards away from the bank, and her green eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Hurry up! The water feels great! She laughed, and began swimming in circles, pretending to be impatient. You may be the fish in this case, but I think I swim better!
She laughed again, then went under the surface another time, swimming deeper and deeper until she saw the bottom. She looked around and saw all kinds of fish and underwater plants. She was absolutely mesmerized. It was beautiful down here, and she watned Quartz to see. And, she could feel her lungs beginning to burn slightly. She looked to the surface, and headed up. But for some reason, her body seemed to be heavier.
Suddenly, she could feel herself moving no longer. She struggled to surface, but made no progress. Looking around wildly, trying to keep her air in, she noticed her hind paw, the left one, caught in some seaweed. Her eyes grew large as she realized how serious this was. She moved towards the plant, and tried desperately to chew free. But when she opened her mouth, it filled with water, and she began to choke, losing her air.
She tried harder and harder, but the more she tried to get free, the more tangled she became. She thought about Quartz, praying he'd notice something was wrong. Her last thought was her friend , and then everything went black.

Quartz laughed, jumping in moments after her. He grinned, skimming the water with his paw, aiming to splash Jasmyne with it. But befor eit reached her, she dived under again. He kaughed hapily again, treading water with his hind paws. He kept looking around, waiting for her suprise attack, a grin still plastered to his face.
When no attack came, he began to grow more worried, he lokoed around frantically, his heart pumping faster and faster, 'JASMYNE?!' he screamed, his eyes wild with fear. Where is she? What happened? Is she okay? What if she's dying? YOU IDIOT SHE'S DYING!' he screamed in his head, but as she thought of her drowning popped into his head, he barely even though, he took a deep breath in and dove under.
He was underwater now, fish scattered as he struggled to keep himself upright. He swam a little further down, his eyes scanning the the strange under-world frantically for Jasmyne. He swam further down still, and caught a glimpse of her sturggling with something. If he weren't under water, he would of cried, his instinct of protection taking over. He felt his lungs run out of air, and he glanced at the surface, if he swam he would survive, but Jasmyne would be gone forever, and if he swam to save Jasmyne, they might both be lost...
He didn't even need to think, he turned his body 360 degrees, and propelled himself towards Jasmyne with every ounce of strength he had, kicking and clawing at the water desperatly, his lungs burning like fire. He reached Jasmyne, his eyes stinging, burning. He paniced, but began to furiously chew the seaweed to pieces.
Finally! She was free, but he eyes were closed, he looked up again desperatly, his vision fading. He grabbed the back of Jasmyne's neck fearlessly, water filling his mouth. He looked up once again, kicking his way to the surface, his vision fading with every kick of claw he made.
The last thing he thought of was Topaz, Topaz and how alone she'd be if he died. He looked down at Jasmyne. No, I won't die, I won't die, I WILL SACE YOU, JASMYNE!' he screamed inside his mind.
He broke the surface of the water, inches from the bank. With one paw he supported Jasmyne, throwing her onto the side, coughing and spluttering, he too clambered out, he waent dizzy, his vision clouding.
Then fell to the ground.

Topaz raised her muzzle in the air, her talk with Loch had made her feel a whole lot better, and she had practically forgotten what happened with Caerwyn. She smelt her brother, and Jasmyne, which brough a smile to her face, she liked Jasmyne.
She followed their scents to the lake, where she was slightly shocked to see them both sleeping. She trotted over and nuzzled Quartz to arose him, but to her horror, he didn't wake him. Her eyes grew wide and she padded quickly over to Jasmyne, nudging her cheek to wake her up, 'Jasmyne!' she shouted in alarm, 'Quartz!'
She looked at them fearfully, they were soaking, which ment they must of been in the water, also meaning, chucking water over their heads might not wake them up. She bit her lip, what was going on?!
She looked around frantically for something, anything! There was nothing here, just water and a whole lot of grass. She heard a gasp, and some spluttering, and spun around, watching as Quartz choked on some water. She rushed over to him, helping him up so he wouldn't choke. Quartz sat their panting, his sister staring at him.
Suddenly he leapt to his feet, leaping over to Jasmyne, 'Oh my god, what do I do? OH MY GOD, WHAT DO I DO?!' he screamed frantically. Topaz followed her brother, but she looked a little more calm.
'Can you save her, Topaz?! PLEASE SAY YOU CAN SAVE HER!' Topaz quickly nodded, and padded to Jasmyne's side, looked her up and down, she suddenly reared up, and pressed her paws down on Jasmyne's stomach, 'OH MY GOD, YOU IDIOT, YOU'RE HURTING HER!' Topaz shook her head frantically, and continued the process over and over again, while Quartz babbled on.
'Oh my god, Jasmyne, don't die, please don't die! I can't live without you! You're my only friend, Jasmyne, you and Topaz are all I have! Please don't go! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME, JASMYNE!'
Tears slid down his sodden, gold fur, 'Please...' he whispered soflty, 'I love you, Jasmyne...'

A spluttering noise came from under Topaz, and Jasmyne awoke, gagging and coughing up a large amount of water. She coughed and looked up at Topaz standing over her, her deep green eyes full of gratefulness and a little pain. She looked around, dizzily. Where was she? Why was she wet? She realized they were at the lake, and Topaz and Quartz were with her, Quartz spazzing out and wet. Had they gone swimming?
Eyes filled with fear, she stared at Topaz, her eyes now filling with questions. W-what ha-ha-happened? She tried to stand, then fell to the ground, her body weak now. She tried again, legs wobbling as she did, and she managed to keep her balance, only to fall onto Topaz. She looked at Quartz, her eyes filled with worry. Q-quartz, are you okay? Did you say something?
She was confused, weak and still coughing up water. She gagged again, afraid she would end up choking. The look in his eyes scared her, besides the fact she was dripping wet and coughing up water.

'S-s-say anything...?' he stammered, his heart pounding at his chest. You idiot, Quartz! he looked at Topaz, as if asking for help, but she stared at him, bewildered. She opened her mouth and looked at Jasmyne, but no sound came out, her mouth just hung there, like a limp fish.
He looked back at Jasmyne, 'N-nothing important, no...' he said slowly, gazing into her eyes. Deep down, he knew she probably did know, but maybe she didn't want to know...? What if she hated him?!

Jasmyne looked at the twins, still confused and disoriented. What was going on here? Had they been swimming? Maybe they'd just taken a nap, and she'd been in the water too long. She honestly had no clue what had just happened. The last thing she remembered was swimming to the bottom, and seeing all the pretty fish.
She sat down, exhausted and looked at him. Well if nothing really happened...She was skeptical, of course. The two were acting weird. Topaz just stared at her and her brother in disbelief, and Quartz was being strange, or quieter than usual. She hoped everything was alright.

ooc// 'I don't rightly know sir...' 'Make an assesment!'
bic// Quartz took a deep breath in, 'I don't know, we were playing in the water, but then you dive down...She I went down too... And you were caught in some seaweed, so I chewed it... And I ran out of air and so did you, I think, so I pulled you to the surface... And that's all I remember.' he said, feeling proud of himself for fitting all that into one breath.
'And I found you btoh spralled out, unconcious.' added Topaz, hoping to help. She gave Quartz a look that said, You know what to do Quartz frowned, and was about to mouth, huh?! when she turned and walked away.

Jasmyne looked from one twin to the other, transfixed on their short tale. Now she understood why she felt sapped of energy. And why she was dripping wet, though she was drying off, thanks to the sun. She laid down, practically collasping to the ground. I see. Well, thank you for dragging me out the water Quartz. But who helped me breath? She gave him a smile, before asking her question. Her face had a puzzled expression on it.
She watched Topaz leave, and called out a weak goodbye to her friend. She was alone with Quartz now, and things didn't quite feel so normal.

His mouth gaped open, 'Topaz...' he said quietly, why did Topaz get all the credit?! He'd saved her! He felt hollow inside, and he let a tear drip from his eyes. He'd risked his life to save her, and Topaz had come along and been all clever and made her cough! He felt jealous of Topaz, very jealous.
He heaved a sigh, and looked out the water again, feeling a deep loathing for it. It had almost cost him his dearest friend, and he would hate himself for the rest of his life for suggesting taking a swim.

Jasmyne heaved deeply, still trying to catch her breath completely. She looked up at Quartz solemnly, her eyes thanking him for risking his life for her. Never before had someone did that; she knew if it wasn't for her dear friend, she wouldn't be here right now. She owed him her life.
Quartz...thank you, so much for what you did. I'm in your debt, if not for you...she couldn't even finish her sentence, for she began to cry, realizing she would have been lost at the bottom of the lake. Her mother, sisters, father, and uncle wouldn't even have been able to bury her body in the Roots of Death. She cried, the warm tears rollling down her cheeks quickly.
