She padded slowly through the forest, her paws treading lightly on the ground as she walked the path. She saw no shade around, due to the path being treeless, and she panted in the heat. Luckily for her, it was cooling down, for the sun was setting now. She looked around her, the marshland moist and icky, and she picked up her paws high to avoid staining her creamy fur with the dark brown of the mud.
Her green eyes wandered around, and she looked back to the sunset, the light reflecting in her innocent eyes. The sky was a beautiful reddish color, with dashes of pink, orange, and a light shade of purple. Beautiful. The fading light cast shadows on the ground as she walked, and her coat seemed to change color because of her own light coloration. Finally, she came to a stop next to a large, flat rock, and she hopped upon it.
Laying down, she crossed her paws and lay her head on them, the setting sun being the only thing she looked at. It amazed her how beautiful and large the celestial body was, and how much they depended on it. But she still felt alone, though the sun was always with her. She sighed, wondering where her friends were right now. She hadn't seen Eyelle in awhile either, or Leia. Ever since their meeting with their uncle Josiah in The Mist, Eyelle had been scarce, and god knows where Leia was and what she was doing. She hadn't seen Topaz lately either, or Toboe and his siblings. She had seen Quartz earlier that day, but things had been a tad awkard; she could sense something was wrong. But there was also another wolf who was often crossing her mind now-Tessar, the stuck up heir to Falling Moon. She knew this, and she didn't know why.
She sighed once more, her heart filled with sadness. The seasons were changing, but her heart wasn't. She felt distant from everyone lately, and she could sense something coming, but what it was she did not know. She closed her eyes for a moment, thinking of everything that had happened to her in the past few weeks.

Crossing his eyes, Loch crouched low, his cream underbelly tracing the wet earth. The long hairs formed muddy clusters which hung beneath him and grew stiff as the muck dried. As the mud became rigid and dry, those small green sticky seeds that grow in the swamp stuck to it. They stuck to fur like ugly on a badger. Lochnivar laughed silently to himself. Ugly. Badger. Ahh. He inched forward, amber gaze focused on a caterpillar, who was making some leaf into its din dins. This made Loch's belly grumble, and so the caterpillar became aware of his motive to pounce, and scurried off as fast as its little...legs...could carry it.
He pouted. Oooh, Caerwyn's buttfluff! Loch giggled aloud at his thought of a swear word. Realizing that he had, in fact, laughed out loud (lol'd), he looked around to see if the path was populated. Hm. A sparrow here, mosquitoes there, dragonfly, woah ho ho! Jasmyn!? Loch's jaw dropped. In his light, she looked more radiant than ever. She'd grown too. She was no longer this awkward young pup anymore. She'd grown into herself and looked very mature. Loch smiled and trotted up to her, howling a sweet melody to her in greeting.

Ears twitched, and she turned her head to see who else could possibly be out at this hour. She thought everyone would be in the dens by now, beginning to settle in. But alas, there was Loch, coming up the path behind her. She listened to his song, dipping her head in rhythm to it. How sweet to her ears it sounded, and it matched the scenery perfectly, if anyone asked her.
Giving a warm smile to the male, she dipped her head in greeting and her eyes flashed in the light. Jasmyne stood up slowly, shaking her hind legs out before padding over to the gray and white male. She gave a smile and paused in front of him, tail wagging slowly. Her whole demeanor hid what she felt inside, the sadness and lonliness. She hid behind her eyes, the fake smile. Well, it wasn't truly fake, she was glad to see him.
Good evening Loch. How are you today? She asked, genuinely curious to know. Anything to take her mind off things, for she couldn't use the sun forever.

Loch smiled giddily as the bonny female padded over. He wagged his tail so ferociously, it looked as if it'd drop off at any moment. And as the female's face came into focus, Lochnivar marvelled at how beautiful she was in the setting sun. But when she looked directly into his warm, amber gaze, he could sense something was wrong. He tilted his head.
"I'm great, now." Loch smiled wearily, knowing that Jasmyn wasn't so great. He stepped forward, inclining his head. He nudged her cheek with the very tip of his large nose. It was a very light, fleeting moment of contact, but Loch felt a jolt of what felt like lightning going through his entire body. He stepped back and gazed into her eyes. "Are you...okay? You seem down."

Jasmyne smiled at Loch gently, her green eyes locking onto him. She got shivers in her body as he touched her, her body unused to that kind of contact. Knowing she couldn't say no without worrying him, she sighed and sat down next to him, looking away to see the rays of the fading sun. I'm afraid not Loch. It's just..my thoughts have been troubling me lately. It's very complicated, at least to me anyway. She avoided his gaze, not wanting to look at him directly.
She gave a sigh, not knowing what to say next. She'd tell him, if he asked, and she was sure he would eventually. Though she had to find a way to say it, so she didn't sound like a bumbling fool.

Loch was deeply disturbed by this. Why would such a young, vibrant femme be so down in el dumpos? He pondered, momentarily screwing up his face in deep contemplation. After coming up short, he decided he just had to ask.
"Well, what's troubling ya?" Loch tried to sound cheerful, but in truth, he too was hurting. For one, the massive gash on his hind leg, all stained with dried blood, was not super fun. But worse was, he was turned down by Eyelle, then after rushing to the aid of a wolf he'd never even met, and after landing the winning blow upon the assailant (a bear), no one even thanked the male. They must have noticed that he had been injured during the fight...but no one even asked him if he was alright. So he just limped off, unable to even put weight on his leg for the searing pain itcaused him. The neglegence and ungratefulness of his pack-mates troubled him deeply, but he would focus on Jasmyne's problem first. Loch was a good listener.
He situated himself on the ground a few feet away from the fae, slowly lowering his large form so that his leg didn't cause him much grief. It took a while to get comfortable, but once he was, he was ready to listen. Not one wolf has even taken notice of this massive wound. Am I that obsolete?

Jasmyne gave a weak smile to Loch, and looked out as the sun finally faded away, and a single star shone in the purple-hued night sky. She sighed, and sat down next to him, paws close to his. She looked up at the sky, as if she were trying to find the answers she seeked in the stars. Seeing nothing, so it appeared, she lowered her head, eyes staring out in fron tof her, seeing nothing but darkness now in the marsh. A lot of things are.
She sighed again, a sad sigh that one could hear pain in, or lonliness. My family seems to be separated these days; I haven't seen my sisters Eyelle and Leia in weeks. Not since or last "family meeting." Topaz and Quartz have been acting funny, and I almost drowned and Quartz saved me but now he's acting weird. There's this ignorant wolf in Falling Moon named Tessar, and he just seems to be everywhere I am almost. It's so strange. But he's okay I guess...She paused in her story and looked away from him, not wanting to admit that she'd been thinking about him lately. Shaking her head, she looked up at him again, and cleared her throat before continuing on.
And now that it's spring, everyone seems to be pairing off lately, except for me. It's kind of lonely, but I guess I'm okay with it...I don't want pups right now anyway, you know? She looked at him, green eyes filled with hope that he would understand. Suddenly, she looked down, noticing a large gash in his leg. Her eyes grew wide with horror and concern. Oh my gosh, Loch! What happened to you? Are you okay?
