Rose padded into the alcove, hoping beyond hope that it would be empty. She wanted to see Raiden again, she hadn't really spent much time with him recently, and was beginning to get that throbbing feeling in her heart which was only cured by Raiden.
She came to a halt by the river, smiling subconsciously at the still surface. It was glittering with the myriad of stars thrown across the sky like a thousand glimmers of light in a wolf's eyes.
She lifted her maw and howled gently, feeling romantic, hoping Raiden heard. She didn't even feel the need to call his name in her howl. She hoped he knew her well enough to just arrive because she was howling from there.
She settled down gently, dipping her paws into the lake, disturbing the surface very slightly.

Raiden had just been settling down in his den ready to end the day with sleep when he heard Rose's familiar call. This was the call he longed to hear, that he looked forward to and he could feel his heart lift as the beautiful howl rang in his ears, and echoed through his mind. He pushed himself to all fours in a swift movement and quickly exited the den, heading off towards his mate at a steady canter, eager to see her. It'd been a while since he had but that felt like eternity and he missed her.
When he finally reached the river, he slowed to a walk and looked at her, unable to tear his eyes away. She looked more beautiful in the moonlight than in the sunshine, and her pelt seemed to shimmer, the moon's reflection bouncing off it. "Hello, beautiful," he said softly, nuzzling her gently before sitting down beside her, and allowing his tail to entertwine with hers. "How's it going?" he asked, turning his head to glance at her for a moment, before looking out over the river. "Romantic," he murmured mostly to himself. He wondered if she'd done a lot of planning on this.
It would only be a little while and he'd be a father. It was hard to believe, because Raiden never pictured himself having pups with a female of his dreams, or pups at all. He'd always thought he'd stay a loner forever and then he'd eventually die off and only a few would know that he actually existed, though probably wouldn't care if he was dead. But not now. Now he had Rose and he would be having pups and life was just perfect now.

She waited, not cautiously, but feeling lazy and content, paddling her paws in the water. It was getting warmer every day, and that was such a welcome sign. Spring was such a good month, it was full of hope and promise. She just hoped that the Dancing Stars didn't try and launch another attack at them. They couldn't possibly be happy?
When Raiden arrived her thoughts disappeared and she turned around, still getting electrical sparks as he made contact with her. She smiled up at him. "It's going good," she nodded, rising to a sitting position so she could rest her head under his head and snuggle into the fur on his chest. "How're you? Hope I didn't wake you up. I just felt like spending some time together. And, of course, Mum said we could have pups. Do you still want to?"

"I'm good," he answered honestly, glad to hear that she was okay. "No, I was going to go to bed, but this is more important," he told her, still peering out over the river, watching the moon's reflection bounce of the liquid and illuminate everything in site. He rested his head gently upon hers, feeling his tingling sensations as she snuggled up next to him. A feeling of happiness washed over him, and he couldn't keep the smile off his face. "Of course I still want to," he said in a gruff voice.
Did she even have to ask? Having pups seemed to be something that could make or break the relationship. Sometimes some wolves weren't ready for pups but they had them anyway, and that was what seemed to break it. And then there were the ones who were ready and the pups strenghtened the relationship. He wasn't sure if this would make or break them. He loved Rose, and didn't doubt it for a minute. But who was to say she felt the same way?

She eyed him in amusant, wondering whether to pick up on his gruff voice and read into it. She could tell he was still having doubts about pups. She tilted her head and smiled knowingly at him, raising her brows flirtily. Just because they were mates didn't mean they couldn't have a little fun, surely?
She gently nibbled the fur beneath his chin affectionately, giggling slightly. He still made her feel all lightheaded and girly, but at the same time she tried to put on this whole seductive act. She almost made herself laugh with how ludicrous it was, this love deal.
She stood up and wandered around him in a tight circle, running her tail along his sides and chest, then gazing up at his bright yellow eyes. "Are you ready to have pups?" she asked him, her dark eyes glittering. She wanted the truth.

Raiden felt himself smirking as Rose made an attempt to be sexy. Truthfully, he found her more cute than sexy and he had to stifle the laugh which was bubbling inside him, but he couldn't hold it any longer when she began her own fit of hysterics. Though he enjoyed everyone of her touches, feeling that familiar electric static as their bodies came into contact with one another. He lifted his head only slightly as she gave him small love bites, and when she pulled away, he reached out and planted a small kiss on her maw before she could escape completely. He peered out over the lake again, smiling happily.
His auds perked forward when she spoke again, and he'd noticed that she'd become more serious, and now her touches sent shivers down his spine and she was no longer that cute female he'd seen moments ago, but a sexy she-wolf. He shuddered, and then nodded his head. "Yes, I think so," he said, forcing himself out of the trance he'd slipped into when Rose had begun that parade of circles around him. "Are you?" he asked, lifting his head to look at her, eyes staring intently on hers, searching for the answer.

Rose nodded definitely and continued to stare up at him as if mystified. Some wolves went their whole lives never finding a soul mate, but she felt as if she'd found hers right at the beginning of her life.
Heck, her life began when she fell in love with Raiden.
She didn't feel a need for words, she averted her gaze for a moment and looked out across the sparkling water. The surface was still undisturbed and glassy, and she could hear the crickets chattering sound all around them.

He smiled. "Good," he murmured, studying her expression just to be sure she was telling the truth. But why would she lie to him? He turned his gaze back to the water, lowering himself to the ground and allowing his paws to hang off the edge and dip in the water, deep in thought about the pops, playing images in his head as to what they would be like, what having a family would be like.
"Maybe we should think of names now," he suggested, glancing to her for her opinion. But knowing females, she'd probably want to wait until they were born so they could see which one looked like which name.
