Tomoko walked slowly through the Shadow Forest, familiarizing herself with the local plants. She'd learned a bit about herbs and plants that might be used as medicine before she'd left her pack, but not really enough to get her anywhere or be of much use to the rest of her group. She could identify some plants and was always trying to hold onto that information by identifying them wherever she traveled.
Her ears were always alert, listening for Kinaki's howl that would signify that she should meet up with her friends again. Like the alpha had suggested, she was just off, doing her own thing and that was taking a simple stroll through the dark forest. She didn't mind the darkness, it didn't bother or scare her like it might some other wolves.
She sat down for a short rest near the roots of a fairly large tree. Her wet nose twitched as she scented the air to see if any other wolves were near her. She was sure that there wasn't, but sometimes it paid to be sure.

Topaz and Quartz padded through the forest together. Their golden coats looked dull, seeing as you could only see a few glints of sunlight through the tree's high above. It was morning, but it didn't seem like it in the shadowy forest. Quartz's ears swivelled around, catching the sound of another wolf. He looked at his sister, as if for approval. She smiled, he smiled back then turned and trotted towards the new wolf.
He saw a pretty she-wolf sitting by a a large tree. He didn't rocognise her, and she didn't smell of falling moon, so he guessed she was a loner. He padded over, barking a greeting. His sister wasn't far behind, and soon both twins were watching the wolf.

Koko slowly turned her head until her green eyes landed on Topaz and Quartz. She blinked a couple times, remaining silent. Some wolves might've mistaken her for mute, that is, until she actually spoke. "Greetings," she said formally with a slight dip of her head. It didn't take an intelligent wolf like herself to figure out that these two were siblings, probably even twins. She guessed that even Tafari could figure that out on his own.
"And who might you be?" she asked as soon as she was finished thinking. She probably wouldn't introduce herself unless they came right out and asked her for her name. She simply continued to look at them in silence, sitting under the tree as she waited for a response.

Topaz smiled at the pretty she-wolf, she had golden-ish fur like them, and she wondered what Quartz thought of her. She nodded her head when the she wolf first spoke, then looked at Quartz. He seemed a little nervous, but she could probably only tell because they knew each other so well. 'Topaz. she said. 'Quartz. And who are you?' he had considering adding the word pretty or darlin' on the end of that, but he didn't like flirting, it wasn't him.

She gave a nod of acknowledgment when the wolves spoke their names "I'm Tomoko," she said after a slight pause. She looked around as if to make sure they were alone and shook her head a bit. "Are you two loners as well?" she said, implying that she was a loner instead of a member of the rogue pack. It seemed the right thing to say, after all, she didn't need every wolf coming along to know about her traveling companions or their plans.
She managed to focus on the others while thoughts raced through her mind at the same time. It was a skill she'd developed over time. From listening to chattering pups and pondering about her place in the pack to listening to the arguing of her five friends and coming up with plans for mischief at the same time. It almost came second nature to her now and she didn't really have to try anymore.

Quartz nodded, 'That's a pretty name.' he said without thinking, and as soon as he did he wished he hadn't. He looked away, wondering what to say next. His blue orbs sought Topaz, who had luckily begun speaking again, 'No, we live with the dancing stars.' she answered, watching the female carefully. There was something suspicious about her, but she couldn't tell what...
'Have you been here long?' Quartz asked, regaining himself.

"No," Koko said, shaking her head. "I just game here a short while ago. I've only been here for a day or two," she said to answer Quartz. She chose to ignore his first statement, for now anyway. It wouldn't do her any good to get all fluttery because of the statement.
"Why do you ask?" she asked calmly as if she was doing these two a favor by taking time out of her day to speak with them.

'I just wondered...' he said, thinking of something to say. He gave Tomoko a half smile and said, 'We were just going hunting, would you like to come with us?' he asked, tilting his head to the side.
Topaz knew that they had just been wandering, and that they had had no intention of hunting, but she saw what Quartz was doing and left him to it. He was breaking the ice, and perhaps hunting with her could be fun. She watched the she-wolf with inquistive eyes, waiting for an answer.

Tomoko shrugged and stood, taking a small step towards them. "Why not. I've nothing better to do and a good hunt couldn't do any harm," she said, her green eyes flashing as she walked passed a small fleck of light.
"Lead the way," she said smoothly, indicating with her muzzle that she'd allow Topaz and Quartz to go first. After all, she still hadn't completely learned the land and wasn't sure where the prey chose to run.
