Thunderclouds. Right above him. Frowning, Roan looked up at them rather worriedly, as if it was going to let out a sudden roar to frighten him. He was glad Carmine was staying, but he still worried that she was only staying because she felt pressured by him and Toboe. But Carmine was strong mentally, she could've took the strain, or could see? Perhaps Roan was expecting too much from Carmine, and he wondered if she ever regretted staying in Dancing Stars.
Trying to push the thought of Carmine to the back of his mind, which he found impossible to do, Roan stood up and shook his fur. What a day it was, the afternoon and he hasn't met bumped into anyone yet. Not that Roan could complain, he was always a shy wolf, and would probably hardly speak if he bumped into one of the pack members he hardly knew. Which were quite a few.
Roan made his way along the mountain quickly, dark eyes watching the area ahead.

"Salut, mon Amie," came a gentle, happy voice, just loud enough to catch on the wind and be heard above the rumble of the oncoming storm. The French accent wasn't brilliant, but it was better than most wolves could do - even though Carmine could only speak the few words she'd relearnt from gaining her memory back. A french fae from her old pack had taught her to speak a little of the foreign language, but not very successfully.
A slender, deep-red silhouette picked it's way across the mountain towards Roan, looking appraisingly up at the dark, ominous sky. Carmine loved to be out when there was a storm overhead - the humid buzz in the air made her feel so alive. Not to mention the fact that she found lightning strikes beautiful, in a terrifying way.
"How're you, Roan?" She asked softly.

Roan's ears twitched as he heard a familiar, but at the same time not, voice speak. The thing unfamiliar about it was that she was speaking in a foreign language. Either way, he was pleased to see her and his tail wagged gently when he looked over at her. Carmine seemed happy enough, and this put Roan's suspicious at rest.
"I'm fine…" he replied, glancing at the thunder-cloud again, but his smile didn't falter like it usually would if he was around someone else, Carmine just made him feel more confident. Something about her made him smile and want to puff out his chest proudly.
"And yourself?" Roan paused, "I didn't know you could speak... Another language."

Carmine grinned, her auburn tail wagging softly with happiness. Although she would always, naturally, be curious and eager to see her old pack again (regardless of the fact they had completely forgotten her), she was glad she'd stayed. Mainly for Roan, but for her other close friends she'd made here too. They made her just feel so cheerful, all of the time.
"I'm fine," she replied, before giggling slightly. "I can't, those are about the only words of French I know." She grinned conspiratorially at Roan, her face lighting up as she told him of a fae in her old pack who had tried to teach her some French, unsuccessfully.

Roan looked at her, listening to her story willingly. Her giggle echoed in his mind, and he couldn't help but think that it was cute. He had never met a French wolf before, and he wondered if the French wolf was able to speak English as well. Of course she could, or else she wouldn't be able to get into the pack... Or stay. "Well, it's still impressive to me." he complimented, smiling bashfully at her.
Roan was tempted to ask what she could remember, but thought against it. Perhaps memories would make her regret staying, and she'd leave, leaving Roan. Roan frowned mentally, that was just selfish of him. "Do you regret staying here?" There was a little bit of worry in his voice, but he tried to hide it.

Carmine grinned at him coyly as he complemented her, pearly canines glinting as suddenly a flash of lightning was shot down from the thunderous sky. She flinched a little, out of surprise rather than fear, and quickly darted her head round to where she could see the remnants of bright light crackling through the almost mauve sky. Letting out a sigh, she watched it fade, before turning back to Roan as he asked his next question.
"No, not at all!" She said, shaking her head a little too forcefully. She didn't want him thinking she'd leave, or that she was ever unhappy to be in his company. Plus, she didn't want questions like that feeding on the remnants of doubt left in her mind. Sure, she secretly longed to go back and see her former pack, but knew it wasn't a good idea.
"I'm glad I stayed here, with you," she said softly, adding quickly, "the Dancing Stars."

Roan smiled happily at her reply, his heartbeat quickening. His tail wagged slowly, but her smile faltered when she said 'I'm glad I stayed here, with you'. It wasn't because he was sad, but because he was surprised. On the inside, he was exploding with happiness and his heart beat faster and faster, tail wagging more. But all that disappeared when she added 'the dancing stars'. He was still happy, just not as happy.
His smile returned quickly, hoping she didn't think he was sad about her being happy about being with the Dancing Stars. "I'm glad you stayed too." he said softly, looking into her lovely eyes, continuing, "I… I don't know what I would have done without you being here." It took him a while to notice what he had just said, and he hoped it wouldn't make her feel awkward. Roan didn't know what to say to try and make it sound like a friendly statement.
In Roan's mind, he was very confused. He liked Carmine, he knew he liked her more than a friend, but he wasn't sure if it could be as serious as love. Hope sparkled in his dark eyes, and his tail was still wagging slowly.
