The cliffs loomed above him, casting a shadow across his silvery pelt, his oceanic eyes watching it sadly. He heaved a sigh, placing a steel grey paw on the cliff, then another. He hauled his skinny body onto a ledge, and began to climb the steep monster. Tristans beautiful blue eyes were blood-shot and sad, welling with tears. His soft cheek fur was damp, his heart pounding against his chest as more depressing tears rolled down his handsome face.
His long legs wobbled, throwing him off-balance as he attempted to climb the next ledge, he was thrust to the ground against a jutting rock, his maw held a grimace of pain. He slowly raised his bulk up again, a deep scar across the side of his back. He heaved a shaky sigh, and hauled himself up the next ledge.
He contiued this process for many hours, so by the time he reached the height of the cliff, the shimmering moon waxed in the inky blue sky. His eyes now emotionless, as the pain that convulsed in his brutal scars didn't bother him anymore. Yes, he knew they were there, but his brain couldn't process the pain anymore.
His body slumped to the ground, his heart racing, hammering his chest. He was exhausted, but he didn't have the energy to care. He lay his head gently on the rocks, as new scar was scratched on his head from the sharp rock he had landed on, he squeezed his eyes, the pain reaced him this time. He shifted position, lying differently, so he was facing the sky side on. His fur flopped infront of his eyes, but he was too tired to care. His eyes flickered shut, eyelids catching his fur gently. He was too tired to notice the owl hoot, or the mouse rumaging in a nearby bush. Soon he floated to his dreams, unable to notice the hissing of a viper not too far away.
It watched the wolf with beady, black eyes, it hissed, raising itself onto its stomach. It narrowed its dark, freakishly demonic eyes, before hissing once more and slithering away from the wolf.
