The snow fell thickly upon Eveline as she pushed her way deeper into the fog. She was so confused and upset. She'd never let Crossbones or her daughters know how much that argument with Josiah still tore her up inside, and so she kept escaping into No Man's Land to be away from her pack and a part of her wanted to run into her little brother, too.
The dark clouds reflected Eveline's mood almost perfectly, the sides of each drawn downwards in a constant frown, following her into the mist. She looked around as if she were lost, but really, she was just remembering her sad upbringing and how much she and Josiah had leant on one another.
ooc- If you go to my Writing thread, you can see Eveline's history, and effectively Josiah's history too (:

The bi-colored male wandered around in the fog, remembering the last time he had been in it. He had run into Eveline, and it hadn't gone so well. He had no idea that it would spur an even bigger arguement between the once close siblings. Had Tunedra not died...he shook his head; he couldn't blame this on his deceased brother. Looking up, he wondered what had gone so horribly wrong in his life. Many things, he could think of. His brother's death, Hallow and Juness' abandonment...their decision to leave, and the split that had resulted from it...nothing was right anymore.
||Maybe nothing was right to begin with.|| He thought bitterly, looking at the ground, for the thick fog was too hard to see through. Then his sensitive nose caught a familiar scent, one he knew all too well. He had grown up with it, learned that it meant protection and love and family, knew he had needed that scent to survive. It was one he would never forget.
He looked up, and his green eyes began to see a figure forming in the mist. The figure was slender, yet muscular, and as it moved closer he began to recognize the all too familiar hues of brown and cream. The familiar eyes-which were hereditary in their family, or so it seemed-appeared as well, soft, sad, and green to match his own. He wasn't dreaming; this was his sister. Eveline, he said, not knowing what else to say to her at the moment.

She turned at the sound of her name being called, and looked at Josiah with tears in her eyes. One thing she'd learnt from being a saviour was that sometimes you needed to be saved just as much, and that was how Eveline felt as she saw Josiah, and she wondered why the Wolf Spirits had guided them both to be in the mist once again.
"Josiah," she replied sadly. She was not sad for his appearance, however. When he was in Dancing Stars he had been thin and a little weedy. She could see now how he'd become much more muscular, as if being under the Falling Moon's tough reign had made him into a stronger wolf. For Eveline, who believed wolves blossomed under love and gentle guidance, it was a truth she could not quite face and yet here was the evidence staring at her.
She did not know what he was thinking or feeling but she knew that no matter what, there was always one thing they felt exactly the same about. "I miss Tunedra," she said, but her voice was barely a whisper. She knew somehow he'd hear, though.

Josiah looked away, his gaze turned emotionless as he rememebered his brother. Tunedra...would things had been different had he not been killed? The orange brute wondered, and knew the answer would forever be unclear to him. After his brother's death, the two had practically grown up on their own. Their parents were never much help, and seemed to care less about them. For this, Josiah refused to accept Hallow and Juness as his father and mother. He never would, and had vowed that when the time came for him to have his own pups, he would not treat them like he and Eveline had been treated.
But there was no use remembering the past, especially such a painful part of theirs. He looked back at Eveline, eyes filled with sorrow. He knew what he had to say, but how to say it he didn't know. With their brother gone, the two had become a close-knit family of two, until coming here. Now, Eve had her own pups and mate, while Josiah had none. His family was Eveline's, and he knew he wouldn't know what to do if he somehow lost his sister, and all ties to his four nieces. He had to apologize.
He looked away again, nervous as to what he was about to say. Then, gaining a more determined look upon his visage, he turned back to her bravely. Eveline, my sister...I am sorry for the pain I caused you. But try to understand, I was trying to protect you, but you were always stubborn when it came to listening to me. I am sorry, and you know I would never, EVER intentionally hurt you. You are my sister, the only non-extended family I have left. You share the exact same blood as me-I do not have that bond with your daughters. Please, forgive me. He didn't know what she would say, or how she would respond. He could only hope it would be positive.

Tears rolled silently down Eveline's cheeks and she looked down and then back up as Josiah finished talking. She was so grateful for his apology and yet she knew it had been her and only her fault, she should have apologised first.
"Josiah, you don't need to apologise. I was being stubborn, I was being judgemental and rude. I can see that you have been surviving well in the Falling Moon pack. Even if I cannot ever accept their ways, Josiah, I can accept you for whoever you are," Eveline smiled sadly. "And I'm upset that my mate and my daughters don't appreciate that they have an uncle."
Eveline couldn't help but realise that with the always-impending fights, it was clear that she may not survive forever. One day she would die, and she wanted every part of her family, besides of course her despicable parents, to love each other.

Josiah gave a small smile as he eheard Eveline's words. Instinctively, he padded over to her slowly, and nuzzled in her fur like he did when they were pups, when he would go to her for comfort and protection. Now, he was just as big as she was, if not bigger, and he took this moment of affection seriously. He hadn't seen her in a long time, it seemed like years to him, and he remembered everything the two siblings had gone through in their lives together. So much hardship and pain...it had only made them stronger and closer than ever, but now, something finally seemed right to Josiah.
There was no confusion, no unknown or unexplained feelings or actions. He felt love for his sister, and a deeper bond towards her as he buried his face in her soft neck fur. Pulling away, he looked at her, his gaze matching hers, realizing how much they were alike now. They shared the same eyes, which ran in their family, but besides appearances they felt the same too. Family was strong-their blood was strong. He knew no matter what, family was family, and he knew then and there he would do anything for his sister and nieces, no matter the cause or if the girls disliked him or not.
Looking at Eveline, eyes soft with adoration. Eve, I want to be apart of my nieces lives, and I don't care if they dislike me. I can even get past your mate...Crossbones wasn't it? I am sorry for my past sins, and I'm glad you can get past my pack and see me for me. I'd like to try to have a realtionship with them, for your sake.

"Of course, Josiah," Eveline smiled into his embrace. It brought back a wave of memories, from when they'd travel together all throughout the hot days and sometimes through the cold nights and somehow they ended up in a valley where they could both fit in.
She looked at his sparkling green eyes and smiled gently. She wanted him to be part of the rest of her family's lives. "I could call for them now, if you'd like?" She said, smiling.

Josiah nodded as his sister spoke; he would like to meet his family. Well, he'd already met Jasmyne and Eyelle, but on bad terms before. A new start would be good, and welcomed. He looked at Eveline, a glowing smile on his face. There was a side-spliting pain at that moment, and he remembered his rib. And with remembering that, he remembered his new status. Now would be a good time to tell her, right? He coughed as he cleared his throat. Uh, Eve? I..uh..have some...umm....good news I'd like to share with you..I was made beta in my pack... He coughed again, not sure what she would say upon hearing this.

Eveline watched him carefully as he winced and after he announced his new position, she hesitated just a little too long. He must be getting very close to Duke and Anevay, then. She decided that she must ignore this little fact, and just celebrate being on good terms with her little brother again. And so, she smiled sincerely.
"That's very good, Josiah," she nodded. Her eyes cast around a little as she decided to howl for her family. She glanced back at Josiah for a moment before replying. "Jasmyn will probably arrive quickly, Eyelle will be late, and Leia I have no idea. Crossbones will not come immediately. And Kitty, well, she left the valley in search of a new life, quite a while ago. Here goes, however," she smiled again, and lifted her orange maw to the sky, howling for her family to come and meet her brother.

Leia was laying in a nearby bush. She pricked her ears and peeked out, haring the two of them talking. "OMG MOM IS CHEATING ON DAD!!!11!!111!! Mother! What are you doing with /that/?" She shouted running out and sanding next to her. He smelled Falling Moon on him. "Wow.... A Falling Moon?" She said, astounded. She'd never been this close t one before, except for when she had been trapped beneath Duke, then that mysterious brute helped her out.
"W-Who ar you? I am Leia, Eveline's daughter."

Eveline blinked as Leia ran towards them and began to babble. She wondered how her daughter had found them in the mist, and tilted her head slightly, questioningly, before realising how suspicious this looked.
Her ears folded back in a motherly way and she soothed Leia with her calm voice. "Do not be alarmed, Leia. This is not a bad Falling Moon. This is my younger brother, your uncle, Josiah." She smiled, hoping Leia would accept him.

ooc||Lol Leia xD
bic||Josiah turned his head to the brown fae that had arrived, and he caught her scent in his nose and began to recognize it. She had a brown pelt, and he was starting to realize that the girls really resembled their side of the family, with Crossbones fur being white and black. He looked at her, memorizing her looks and smell. Dipping his head in respect, something a normal Falling Moon beta wouldn't do, he gave a soft smile to his niece. Hello, Leia. It's nice to finally meet you. It is as your mother says, I am your uncle, and beta of Falling Moon. You certainly didn't act like your sisters when they first met me.
He gave a small chuckle, and his smile grew a bit as he looked from her to Eveline. He wondered where Jasmyne and Eyelle were at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wandering through the thick mist, Jasmyne tread lightly through the mud, trying not to get any dirtier than she already was. Her normally cream colored paws were now a dark brown, and she followed the scent of her mother and Leia carefully, so she would not get lost. Another scent crossed her path, and she recognized it vaguely as her uncle, Josiah. Coming upon the trio, she nodded to her sister and mother, and just stared at the male. Hello mother, Leia....Josiah.

Eveline smiled gently as her daughters greeted Josiah, and piece by piece she felt her heart coming together. She could practically count down the seconds until Eyelle arrived. I bet she'll be very loud, complain and then go silent. Eveline predicted.
About ten seconds later, Eyelle came crashing through the trees, and swore loudly when a branch snapped back in her face. She padded forwards, slightly more gracefully, and set her eyes wildly on her mother. "What're you calling me all the way to here for? I was in the middle of a very important and romantic talk with Toboe, and-" she glanced momentarily at Josiah, and after realising who it was, she snapped her maw shut and blinked in surprise.
"Thank you, Eyelle," Eveline smiled amusedly at her and blinked back at Josiah to see how he'd react to her. The last time he'd met his nieces they'd been so much younger, they were definitely older and much prettier now.

Josiah turned his head towards a loud commotion in the trees, and laughed when he saw Eyelle finally emerge. Cocking his head to the side, he looked at Jasmyne and Eyelle. My, how you two have grown. And Leia? Goodness, you all are so big. Are you sure these are MY nieces? Josiah asked Eveline, giving a smile to each one. Jasmyne returned the smile with a slight nod, still not knowing whether or not to trust the orange male.
Josiah turned to the girls again, and looked at them, his gaze soft and warm. How have you been since I last saw you, Eyelle and Jasmyne? And Leia, I guess I need to say how have you been altogether. He gave a chuckle as his eyes moved from one niece to the next in disbelief. This was his family...his family. It sounded weird to him, yet it also sounded right.
---
Jasmyne looked at her uncle cautiously with green eyes, then stared wildly at her sister as she came crashing through, yelling something about Toboe, then shutting up quickly at the sight of Josiah. She gave a knowing look to Eyelle, and a confused look at her mother's smile, then turned back to her uncle to listen to his words. I have been good. Just wandering around lately. Nothing special. She gave a shrug, not knowing what to do. She was still so weary of him...he was a Falling Moon afterall. What was she supposed to do?

Eveline smiled gently as Josiah spoke to his nieces, and could understand why they were a little cautious of him. After all, he was a Falling Moon, and they'd had a good introduction to him. She hoped this would suffice.
"Erm, I've been fine, thanks," Eyelle frowned a little at Josiah, trying to figure him out. She realised the only way she'd ever understand him is if she asked, and got to the bottom of things.
"Why are you a Falling Moon?" she said loudly, in a voice which also seemed a little hurt. Eveline frowned also, but could understand why Eyelle was upset by this. She turned to see how Josiah would reply.
